and that helped to warm up a few degrees and few locations as much as 8 degrees. santa rosa, 68. concord reached a high of 64 and monterey climbed to 62 degrees. another nice shot four. this is from high definition mount tamalpais camera, looking down to the bay and clear skies right now. san francisco 52 and 50 in san jose. santa cruz, 57 and one more shot for you. east bay cam, bay bridge on the oakland side heading toward oakland side, there it is in the city and the background, clear skies, santa rosa, 54. fairfield, 43 degrees and then we have 44 right now in gilroy. here is a look at our forecast highlights. take you in through much of the up coming week, clear and cool overnight. patchy clouds tomorrow and then we'll start to gradually warm through the rest of our workweek. it will be another dry week ahead. so no rain in our accu-weather forecast for the next five to seven days. cold temperatures, 35 for napa and san francisco, 44 degrees and a little cloudiness will start to move in tonight. palo alto 41 and some of the high clouds early tomorrow morning. low tonight is 35 degrees. this

at fog, not so thick. just hazy. four miles is the lowest visibility in santa rosa. we will watch sfo and oakland and san jose to make sure nothing develops. we have a low cloud deck. now, the winds are blowing in from the west to northwest so if you live east or southeast that is coming your way which is not much right now other than a lot of cloud cover through the morning. it is 43 to 47 degrees through 7:00. we will be in the low-to-mid 50's by noon and partly sunny this afternoon. a cold front is coming through but it will not kick up any showers and will kick up in that temperature-range of mid-to-upper 50's in the afternoon and even some mid-40's to low 50's during the evening. we will see more sunshine tomorrow, with temperatures in the mid-50's through 60 and a real small chance of a scattered shower on friday but the temperatures are cooler been then. now the traffic? >> good morning, everyone, we have a look at road work overnight, still in lanes, eastbound dumbarton bridge until 6:00 this morning and i do not see significant slowing eastbound reverse commute direction. als

morning commute. it is getting chilly out there. 44 at this hour in napa. 45 in santa rosa. 50 in san francisco. we're seeing a little bit of overcast in livermore. 50 in san jose and half moon bay don't be surprised to see fog tomorrow morning. 45 degrees. low clouds and fog overnight. midday clearing for your monday. monday afternoon should be sunny. tuesday will be sunny and the clouds thicken up bringing a chance of rain returning to the bay area as we led heed to the latter part of our workweek. lows, widespread mid to low 40s near san francisco and oakland. all the way down the peninsula toward san jose, san jose 41 overnight low but in the north bay as well as the east bay interior valley areas we see a little bit of clear spots, i napa getting down to 48 degrees. it will be cool in the interior east and north bay valley areasa string of nice, dry mild days. it will be with us for two more days and it's keeping the rain with the storm track north of us. as we head into wednesday, all of this will collapse to the south and that will open the door to cooler air mass as well as a

60 degrees. mid-50s to low 60s around the bay area. 56 in santa rosa. santa rosa, one of the only spots, slightly cooler than yesterday. 57 in oakland. 62 walnut creek, 62 in livermore, most of us anywhere from 4 to 6 degrees from 24 hours ago. for the afternoon, the temperatures will soar above average for this time of year, giving you a look here, mostly sunny skies. had some fog across the valley floor. that's broken up. we're looking at sunshine for your afternoon. i want to point you to a couple of items that will be impacting us for the weekend. minor changes in store. first it will come in the way of high clouds. i'm seeing some subtropical moisture pulling up into our area by tomorrow. high clouds overhead. meanwhile, a system in the gulf of alaska is bringing us large swells and that will impact our beaches. so we do have something to be aware of if you are heading toking beach for the weekend -- to the beach for the weekend, rip shores and the sneaker waves, be aware of those for the little ones who like to play on the beaches. we have chilly mornings for saturday. sunda

coming up. 68 in santa rosa, 67 in san rafael. cooler back in the east bay after that the cold start with 63 in concord, 26 in livermore. quite a bit warmer down in the south bay. we got in on the 70s like dil gilroy at 72. feels more like late april and early may. santa cruz at 71. san jose at 6 and los gatos in the mid 60s. a few other spots that did reach into the 70s, we had scotts valley at 71, then you had cupertino at 70. san jose upper 60s. i want to put a pause on things for a moment. take a look at january winter extremes. anything unlike january should feel like here. throughout the entire month, the south bay has only had seven days of rain .69. we should have 2.081. with so much clear weather, the north bay has been stuck in the freezer. 16 days at or below 32 degrees and the average low is 37. at the coastline, this is where we put the wild twist on things. .at the coastline light offshore winds, that's where we had six days at 70 degrees and or above throughout santa cruz. outside of the sky camera network, there's the haze. the poor air quality we're under in the sant

anywhere from a quarter mile up in santa rosa. you see all the cloud cover isn't producing any rain. not today. we still have a strong ridge of high pressure in control. but filtered sunshine today and we will notice with the mild temperatures to start out, it will be a cooler afternoon because that solar radiation being blocked a little bit from the high and low clouds. 43 napa. good morning, fairfield. one of the cooler spots at 49. it's 46 half moon bay. 36 in san jose and plenty of low clouds here, allowing for reduced visibility from watsonville to monterey. the worst spot is up here, santa rosa, quarter mile visibility. six miles visibility in the inland east base and livermore. we will look at the hazy afternoon sunshine. the fog lifts. we will still have the high clouds. temperatures on the mild side. certainly not as mild as yesterday. no more 70s but some low to mid-60s. cooler days will arrive by the middle of next week and we do have some rain finally to talk about. it looks like by the end of the upcoming work week. beach hazard once again tonight through tomorrow morni

coast from watsonville into salinas. partly cloudy. poor visibility up toward santa rosa. three miles there. had has improved significantly but napa you still have the fog. more sunshine this afternoon. we will see cooler conditions, much cooler with some showers. it looks like thursday.they should be returning and we are looking at maybe a quarter to a half-inch at this point. low snow levels. here's the water vapor imagery. she's the high, cirrus clouds from saturday. this allows a ridge of high pressure, a little nose of it to push on in. with that, some more mixing and we will see some slightly sunner condition today with numbers back into the low to mid-60s. with the clouds we are in the mid-50s yesterday. here's the computer animation. half moon bay, ocean beach we should see more clouds there. cooler conditions still pretty much in the 50s. he is the high pressure ridge, well, it's with us, it has been, and it will stay with us through the middle of the week. but we are going to get into some cooling by tuesday. more cooling on wednesday. then we will look for a little rain hea

on this map. 69 in mountain view. in santa rosa you have the 68. just south of town a little bit you'll find a 70-degree reading. hearsay how it goes. the haze in the atmosphere at sunset. we have some air quality concerns tomorrow as we get into that. what we're seeing a lot of are the high clouds coming over the top. high clouds coming in, it bends the light, refracts the light. and turns it into different colors. these high clouds are doing the beeping of the light. tonight's sunset is going to be stunning. we'll try to post one on our ktvu.com web page. is it going to bring rain? no. is it going to bring clouds? yes. is it going to cool us off? yes. it will drop a few degrees tomorrow. but then sunday the clouds shunt away and we begin to warm up a little more. temperatures, mid60s, low 60s. still really nice and above average for february. 65 right now in santa rosa. that is warm. 63 in napa. 60 in walnut creek. it's warm outside. you travel about t will cool off rapidly tonight. going out tonight, whatever you're doing, take a jacket. may not need it right now, but you will by the time

. we're noticing your visibility dropping off from santa rosa to napa only about a quarter mile to half mile visibility and that goes for fairfield as well. concord starting to drop off. taking you to future cast. we stop the clock for you at 8:00 a.m. mostly cloudy conditions across the greater bay area. the clouds will serve as a blanket and trap in some of the warmth and that means it's not going to be too bitter cold this morning. and we'll lose a lot of that cloud cover by 11:00. onshore flow means a cool sea breeze throughout the day. you'll probably need that jacket especially in our coastal communities. we have the most sunshine between 1:00 and 2:00 over the greater bay area today. 65 degrees in livermore. 65 in gilroy. 63 in beautiful san jose. 64 degrees in fairfield. as we head throughout the afternoon, highs coming in between 3:30 and 4:00 this time of year and then the sun goes down around 5:30 p.m. we'll have your full forecast and let you know when showers arrive and when you will need that umbrella coming up in my next report. first, let's check on the roads with mike.
